Photo Post 128: The Cat Eye

the cat eye

I thought I would be free for photography after I come back here in NJ but that’s not happening. I’m not getting enough time to go for photography outside. The whole day just passes with lots of stuff. Job searching, learning and training myself for job interviews and some house stuff. Apart from that, NJ is getting cold right now and I’m not used to cold weather so I’m afraid of going out in this season and getting sick.

This cat is the same cat which you saw with Deborah in the previous photo. I’ve already mentioned about the photo session with Deb. While she was away for 2-3 minutes to change her clothes, I took 2-3 snaps of her kitty ‘LUKA’. I wanted to try out something new with the cat photo, so I cropped her eye area in a way so that it can come nearly to the center of 1/3 of the vertical image.

I then changed it to black and white to give little scary and interesting look and used graduated filter tool to manually decrease the exposure in corners. That image looked good but I still tried to see what Fotosketcher can produce, and it created a very artistic image using the brushstrokes painting tool.

I liked it. It’s difficult to take wonderful photographs everyday so sometimes artistic photographics from my own photographs works very well !!!

Photo Post 117: Dear Luka

Dear Luka

Finally…. I’M BACK !!!!! 🙂

I missed taking photographs, writing photo stories and follow photography in general since almost a month and half.

I was very busy studying my master’s thesis work. I successfully defended my thesis and completed my masters degree in Computer Science. I’m so happy now. Another phase of life is over and the most important will come now. Hopefully, I’ll be working somewhere soon. Wish me GOOD LUCK :))

I’m back to NJ now and thinking to re-start photo-blogging from tonight.

I did my first ever photo-shoot with two basic studio lighting yesterday with another friend and fellow photographer ‘Deborah’. It was super awesome experience. I decided to buy and setup studio environment in my house once I get a job.

This super cute cat’s name is LUKA. She is deborah’s cat. I will be updating some very nice photographs of Deborah which I took yesterday.

I’m excited to be back and want to write more but I will keep this much for now.

Day 107: Toy Duckie…Quake Quake…

Toy Duckie

As I was not getting time to go outside, I looked and thought about something inside the house to take photographs of. I found this cute water toy duck. My nephew’s toy. 🙂 I filled the water in his baby tub to put the duck inside and take photos.

I wanted to show splash of water when duck rotates its legs but unfortunately it was moving slowly inside water without making any water splash. So I decided to take a still shot in water. I was pretty sure about what exactly I wanted (catchy colors of water and toy, calm water & nice composition).

If you’re following me then you will notice that I changed my theme over long time. I pretty much liked it but the only major problem is that it’s not showing EXIF info about the photos. I will have to add EXIF info in the post itself.

Please let me know which theme do you like better ? I’m confused.

Day 104: Beauty lies everywhere (T-Rex Cafe, Disney Downtown)

T-Rex Cafe, Disney Downtown

Amazingly unique place, ‘T-Rex Cafe’ @ Disney Downtown, Orlando.

Went there with friends just before I came to New Jersey. I just went to enjoy, so didn’t take photography purpose photos.

Today I was looking at these photos to find something to put today as I don’t have any new photos yet. I found this picture very interesting. Though it was not greatly sharp but still I loved the yellowness of that creature, the lights on the rock and those blue shades of water.

For your information, nothing is real (it was self-created ambiance for a theme based restaurant) here but I tried to make it look real. I cloned out the wires which were supporting these things from wall. Added some vignetting on sides and used graduated filter tool of Adobe Lightroom. I’m totally in love with this tool. Amazing control over specific location’s exposure. I use it often now to correct over/under exposed areas in some photos.

Tomorrow I’m planning to shot an amazing church located in Perth Amboy, NJ. It’s very tall and interesting structure. Thinking to try HDR in that too. Let’s see. Wait for that now 🙂

Day 97: Seagull @ Seaside Heights

As I mentioned in previous post, I tried so many seagull pictures. I had some specific compositions in my mind, so I was trying to capture those type of only.

They were so quick and even when I go near to any bird who is sitting, they were flying away towards sea direction and I was not getting their face. I changed my lens from 55-250 to 18-55, to be able to get the photo even when they come too close and that worked. I got some nice pictures with 18-55 which I definitely had to crop to get them more closer in the frame.

Same happened with this one. I cropped almost 2/3 of the original frame. Still acceptable image dimensions. Thanks to my 18MP Canon T3i. Love it 🙂

Did just minor post processing to enhance the photo. Nothing special to mention about it.

Not sure about posting another bird picture tomorrow or not. Hopefully will go out on streets and shoot something if get time.
